España, un país de cine the photographic exhibition organized by Spain Film Commission within the framework of the Berlinale

02/03/2019

When our eyes are still focused on FITUR CINE, the new and successful section created by Spain Film Commission to promote screen tourism, is the moment to look at the following event, in which we have been working for the last months.

The following 12th February, during the reception that the Spanish Embassy in Berlin and ICAA celebrate in Berlinale, the inauguration of a photographic exhibition titled “España, un país de cine”, organized by the Embassy and SFC, will take place.

“We have gathered locations from all around Spain, where relevant shootings took place, to display the potential of Spain as a screen tourism destination”, as Víctor Lamadrid (vice-chairman of Spain Film Commission) said.

“Spain has an enormous potential to attract shootings, and there is not a better place to show these unique locations than the Spanish Embassy in Berlin during the Berlinale. In fact, this is the first time when locations from around Spain are gathered in the same exhibition”, as Mr. Lamadrid said, who also wants to highlight the benefits that attracting shootings have for these locations.

He followed saying that “In this exhibition we are going to be able to see clear examples of screen tourism: beaches, mountains, rivers, architecture, singular buildings, etc. We tried that the exhibition shows all the territories and regions of Spain and also all the different types of landscapes… we want to make the viewer want to come to Spain”.
The exhibition counts with 36 images, which will be supplemented with information about the location (including the most important shootings that took place and information about the film office or film commission). A video about attracting shootings will also be shown.

The exhibition will be opened to the public from the 13th February to the 15th March 2019 in the Spanish Embassy in Germany (LIchtensteinallee 1, Berlin). It is organized by the Spanish Embassy in Germany together with Spain Film Commission and counts with the support of  Sub Dirección General de Industrias Culturales y Mecenazgo and Instituto de la Cinematografía y las Artes Audiovisuales, both depend on the Spanish Culture Ministry.
