Money Heistawarded in FITUR SCREEN as best Spanish production.

Spain Film Commission has delivered the Award for best audio-visual production made in Spain on 2019 for the quality of its production, its attractive script, the excellent interpretation of its cast and its locations, which give an international projection of the Spanish audio-visual industry.


This event took place in Fitur Screen’s stand and it closed the program of professional activities that Spain Film Commission has organized to promote screen tourism. Juan Manuel Guimerans, vice president of this entity, has remarked that this TV series “had the ability to spread around the world the reality and potential of Spain as a leader country in terms of audio visual production”.


Alex Pina, creator of this TV series, Esther Martínez Lobato, executive producer, and Esther Acebo, “Stockholm” in the series, took part on this event which has counted with a huge expectation and audience. “We will keep on showing Spanish locations, as we did in previous seasons, making them known around the world”, as Alex Pina remarked at the moment of the award delivery. “We are very proud for being part of this global phenomenon”, as Esther Acebo affirmed.


“Money Heist”, a TV Series initially produced by Vancouver Media for its broadcast in Antena3, and later by Netflix, has reached a huge international success. This is why it has received many international and national awards, such as the International Emmys, Fénix Awards, Iris and counts with viewers and fans all around the world. Most of the action takes place in Madrid, in the Spanish Mint and the Bank of Spain, although the series has been shot in other locations such as the Superior Council of Scientific Investigations (CSIC) or the Ministry of Public Works, places that many viewers visit during their stay in Madrid.


The finalists of this award are “Hierro”, by Movistar+, filmed on the Canary island of El Hierro, and “Diecisiete”, a feature film by Daniel Sánchez Arévalo for Netflix which has been shot in Cantabria.


This event also counted with the presence of the vice president of the Community of Madrid, Ignacio Aguado, who has shown his gratitude “for the big effort that producers made to show the best of Madrid around the world”.
