Navarra Film Commission assisted 17 science-fiction feature films in 2018

Navarra Film Commission assisted 17 sci-fi films in 2018, both national and international, which took place in this region. In this first balance of the year, documentaries, short films, advertising spots, series, TV programs and photo reports have not been taken in account.

In their view, the data in fiction feature films confirm that, one year more, the development and growth of the audio-visual industry in Navarra and strengthen the positioning of this region as a shooting destination. The number of shooting days in this territory has grown (156 days, 24 days more than 2017). The budget per project has also been increased, with an increase of the expenditure in the territory per day of shooting and the impact in terms of employability and collateral derived services. More than a half of the direct expenses were done in fiction feature films and animated films. They spent around 36% of their budget in Navarra.

Navarra Film Commission conceives that “the most important competitive advantages that this community offers in the audio-visual industry are the administrative facilities, the variety of locations and the tax incentives. These have positioned Navarra as one of the most attractive regions in Spain”.

They have also highlighted the implementation of new companies of the animation sector, postproduction and videogames, with large international projects that generate stable employment and high qualification for the youngsters.

On December two new shootings begin: Ventajas de viajar en tren and Te quiero, imbécil.

For 2019, Navarra Film Commission is already working on 13 projects: feature films (documentaries and fiction), animation and TV programs.
