Salamanca, chosen as a shooting spot by more than 50 audio-visual productions during 2018

11/15/2018

Salamanca’s monumental wealth is unmatched. That is probably a reason why Salamanca has been chosen to shoot more than 50 audio-visual productions: feature films, TV films, series, documentaries, etc. This makes 2018 one of the best years of the audio-visual history in this city.

The shooting list is very long. We can highlight some feature films, such as “Mientras dure la Guerra”, “Terminator”, “Casi 40”, “El año que amamos a Gilda” or “Salamanca Skyline”; or TV films such as “Asesinato en la Universidad” (by Iñaki Peñafiel and starring Leonor Watling, Patrick Criado and Daniel Grao) and “Ein Sommer in Salamanca”.

If we talk about TV productions, Salamanca hosted “Masterchef”, “El paisano”, “España directo”, “Pedaladas”, “La Aventura del saber”, “Intercambio consentido”, “Got Talent”, “Portugueses por el mundo”, “Arranca el verde”, “Los desayunos de Televisión Española”, etc.

WIth reference to series (one of the trendiest formats nowadays) we find: “Magi” (Amazon Prime), “Acacias 38” (RTVE) and “Gigantes” (Movistar+).

Many documentaries have also been shot in Salamanca: “Serás hombre” Canal Arte (many productions from France and Italy), Discovery Chanel, Mega, “Ciudades de Noche” and educational documentaries for Italian and German publishers.

This list would not be complete without international programs about touristic and cultural topics, some short films, audio-visual practices, advertising spots, video clips, local and regional TV programs and, of course, productions related with the VII Century of the University of Salamanca.

From the institutional point of view, Julio López Revuelta, Culture and Tourism councilman in Salamanca’s City Hall, highlights “the amazing job that the City Hall has been doing for the promotion of Salamanca as a shooting destination”. He adds: “Salamanca has an exceptional reputation in terms of shooting conditions and this is very important”, talking about the services that the City Hall provides to the productions in order to satisfy their needs.
