Spain Film Commission presents its new content platform at the European Film Market of Berlinale 68th edition

President of Spain Film Commission, Carlos Rosado, General Director of ICAA, Oscar Graefenhain, and Project Director of Invest in Spain-ICEX, Jaime Montalvo, presented yesterday the new SFC website www.shootinginspain.info

The platform focuses its contents on practical aspects, offering all the information on tax incentives to shoot in Spain, a search tool for locations, a section that includes the special features to shoot in Spain, the contacts of all Film Commissions and Film Offices associated, as well as a section devoted to Cinema and Tourism, a history of filming in our country and a section of news.

During the presentation Carlos Rosado said that Spain is going through an excellent moment in terms of the Shooting Industry, which is a recognizable vector of the Spanish Audiovisual economy. He noted that more than 60% of  film projects assisted by the members of Spain Film Commission are Spanish, are participated by Spain or have highly qualified Spanish professionals.

He also noted that the challenges that are necessary to make Spain a top destination for the film industry are: to have an ambitious national strategic plan around the brand 'Shooting in Spain' that increases the country's competitiveness, improve fiscal incentives and promote large investments in audiovisual infrastructures to meet the growing demand for filming around the world.

The Director of Projects of Invest in Spain-ICEX, Jaime Montalvo, said that he is committed decisively to attract international shoots through the promotion of tax incentives. The presence of 'Cinema from Spain'-ICEX in the main international markets contributes to enhance not only the audiovisual industry but it is a window to the world to attract film shoots to the country and highlighted the importance of the high qualification of the Spanish service professionals, which guarante that any international production has the best professionals.

The director of the ICAA, Oscar Graefenhain, highlighted the importance of working with Spain Film Commission together in the promotion of Shooting in Spain and in the improvement of the incentive system to attract more productions, underlining that we are in an exceptional moment of audiovisual activity in the country and that the institutions must work together to attract more international productions.

This new content platform has been financed by the Ministry of Culture, Education and Sports through the 2017 Action and Cultural Promotion Aid and with the entity's own resources.
