The City of Madrid launches "Ciudad de Madrid Film Office / City of Madrid Film Office"
The new Film Office of the City of Madrid will soon be incorporated into the Spain Film Commission network.
The City Council of Madrid presented the new Ciudad de Madrid Film Office, the filming office of the capital of Spain, within the framework of the MAFIZ of the Málaga Festival. Its mayor, Manuela Carmena, and Lola Salvador, artistic director of Cineteca and responsible for the audio-visual policies of the Madrid consistory have explained the initiative.
The office is located in the historic Casa de la Panadería, in the Plaza Mayor of Madrid. It is a body of the City Council designed to support all types of audio-visual productions, collaborate in the promotion and internationalization of Madrid productions and promote the filming in the city.
Although the new Film Office is now officially a reality, the City Council has been providing audio-visual filming services during the process of creating the new Film Office with its administrative office of filming permits and with the support of the Madrid producers through the AMA association.
For Lola Salvador the model is that of the filming offices of cities such as New York and Paris, an office run by film people so it can avoid working with a mere administrative approach. The mayor of Madrid, Manuela Carmena, has announced the presentation of a wide range of surprising locations in the capital.
In 2017, according to those responsible for the new office, 10,000 permits were requested for all types of audio-visual productions: short films, feature films, advertising spots, videos or photography sessions.
Ciudad de Madrid Film Office / City of Madrid Film Office has requested its incorporation into the Spain Film Commission network, which will take place shortly in order to jointly work on promoting Spain as a filming set and the promotion the audio-visual professionals and industry of our country .
