FITUR, Tourism’s International Fair, is the meeting point for tourism professionals and the leading fair for host and source markets in Ibero-America. In the last edition, FITUR broke a participation record with 10.190 companies from 165 countries/regions, 140.120 professionals and 110.860 visitors. The presence of 7.856 journalists highlights the expectancies that this fair raises internationally.

This year FITUR opts decidedly and for the first time for the cinema tourism, thanks to a collaboration agreement with Spain Film Commission, which, since its creation, works hard to position Spain as a shooting destination. From the 23th to the 27th January 2019, FITUR Screentourism is meant to be a reference forum between the touristic and the audio-visual industries.

Spain , as one of the world leaders in the touristic sector, has found in cinema tourism a call to attract a different type of traveller, eager to know the locations where his or her favourite films and TV series were shot. This fact, together with all the assets that the country offers, contributes to attract new shootings, showing the locations already known by the public and make new and fascinating locations known.

Despite the good moment that the Spanish cinema tourism is experiencing, there is a constant seek for the improvement of competitiveness of Spain as a shooting destination and also as a destination that viewers want to visit.

In this context, FITUR Screentourism pretends to show different national and international initiatives about specific touristic products, debates about successful cases nationally, such as Andalusia, and internationally, such as Ireland, New Zealand or Croatia.

In addition, Spain Film Commission has created an honorary title as ambassador to promote cinema tourism in Spain, and we will also deliver an award to the production that shows Spanish locations and spreads Spanish culture at its best.

We look forward to seeing you in the pavilion number 2 in IFEMA.
